Hello!

 

I'm Sara Mustelin. I grew up in Helsinki, Finland (my first language is Swedish but I'm completely fluent in English). As a child, I spent most of my free time drawing, sculpting, wood working, and learning photography. While spending summers in San Diego, California I was introduced to American Cinema.

 

In 2011 I moved to the US to pursue a degree in filmmaking. With my eye on the Camera Department, I made myself available to shoot anything and everything I was offered while in school.

In 2014, I began working as Assistant Camera and I've made a living working in the Camera Department ever since. After working as a 1st AC for several years on commercials, documentaries, TV series, short films and music videos for clients like REI, MIU MIU, NBC Sports, Amazon Prime Video, CNN, A&E, Microsoft, and more, building up my technical knowledge, I felt it was time for me to step into the role of Cinematographer - the lifelong goal and dream that had brought me across the Atlantic.

I work on projects big and small, commercial, documentary and narrative.
